Lana has been working in the dental field as a Dental Assistant since 1983. She completed her CDA in Colorado and moved to Oregon in 1984. In 1995 she completed her EFDA certification. She worked with Dr. Arend between 2002- 2007 and in July of 2013, she returned to East Portland Dentistry and could not be happier. When Lana is not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and 4 dogs. Her interests also include swimming, gardening and cooking.
Sarah started assisting in our office in 2013. We are excited to have her as part of our team. She is a graduate of Southern Oregon University. When Sarah is not working, she enjoys being outdoors, trying new restaurants, and listening to music.
Vickie started working at this clinic as an expanded functions dental assistant in 1985. She loves U of O football, running and golfing.
Debbie received her B.S. in dental hygiene from OHSU in 1984. After graduation, life took her to work and practice in California and then Texas. Finally getting back to her hometown and family here in Portland, Debbie has been working in this clinic since 1990.
Eva, our back office coordinator/x-ray certified assistant, has been working in this office since 2001. “I love my job and coming in to work every day, knowing that I’m a part of making a difference in our patients’ lives.”
Mindy received her B.S. in dental hygiene from OHSU in 1985. She practiced in Oregon for four years. Mindy then took her dental hygiene skills to practice on the beautiful island of Maui. She returned to Oregon and joined our office in 1991. Mindy enjoys working closely with our patients to achieve their optimal dental health. She also served as an alumni board member for the OHSU School of Dentistry for nine years. Away from the office she enjoys travel, cycling, dancing, and helping out with various community projects.
Nancy has been a hygienist in the Portland area for many years, the last 17 with Dr. Joy Arend. She is actively involved in the Gum Gardener’s study club and expands her education at the annual Oregon Dental Association conventions. Outside the office she likes gardening and hiking with her husband, and volunteering with her black lab, Belle, as a Pet Partner therapy team. “I enjoy working closely with my patients and their families to ensure they have a comfortable and compassionate experience in our office.”
Amie has been with the practice as a front office coordinator since 2009, and has been working in dentistry since 1998. She enjoys running, gardening, yoga, and spending time with her friends and family.
