Joy Arend, DMD
Dr. Joy Arend came to Oregon after receiving her undergraduate degree in microbiology from Northern Arizona University. She attended dental school at Oregon Health Sciences University, graduating with honors. Dr. Arend continues her education through multiple study clubs and graduate classes in advanced dentistry. She has recently completed four years in the Masters Synergy Training Program for Dental Implants.
Dr. Arend is a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Multnomah Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. As one of the premier dentists in East Portland, OR, she believes strongly in giving back to the community. She has been a longtime volunteer with the children’s dental mobile van, Creston School, and has participated in the Mission of Mercy in downtown Portland. In addition to Portland dentistry, Dr. Arend feels one of her most valuable experiences was working for three years in a free clinic for Medical Teams International in Mexico City, Mexico.
Joy has been married to her high school sweetheart, Tom, for 25 years. They grew up in Arizona and have known each other since the third grade. Joy and Tom have two children, who keep them busy with Boy Scouts, church, and sports activities. Dr. Arend’s hobbies include gardening, golfing, and reading. She also loves bike riding and camping with her family.
